kirtan What happens at Kirtan? We start off by chanting Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra for healing and relief of suffering. We have a book in which you can write the names of people you know who are in need or who are suffering; we read these out before we start, and hold them in mind while chanting. This is followed by Kirtan (joyful chanting) with harmonium, drums and other musical instruments. It's fun, no experience needed! But I can't sing... Kirtan is not a concert or musical performance, it's about enjoying using your voice with others, plus you can clap or play one of the instruments we provide. ...and I don't know the words No worries, we write the kirtan words on a whiteboard and there are handouts of the main mantras. You're welcome to take these away, or you can download them in PDF format. |
Kirtan dates in 2010 Saturday 28 August Saturday 25 September All welcome! Koha to cover hall hire & refreshments. |
